Every tree we plant for you is tagged with an NFC microchip, which records the trees geographical location, who owns the tree, and when it was planted. You can name the trees you plant and track their progress, as each tree has its own unique number. And you will immediately know where in the world your tree is planted, while getting regular photo updates.

Do you care for our planet? Plant a tree for your children, in memory of a loved one, or gift it to someone who cares too!

Who we are:

We are a team of young entrepreneurs from Tbilisi, Georgia and started Treepex back in 2016. But we’ve realized that Georgia is too small for Treepex. That’s why we decided to move our HQ to New York City!

Why we do so:

We’re not only making the world a bit greener by planting trees, but we’re also transforming more people into green advocates! By merging planting trees with innovative solutions, we deliver actual positive impact.

Borjomi National Forest

One of the largest national forest of Europe and richest one with its biodiversity today requires our help!

In August 2008 wildfires hit Borjomi forest which has top grade ecological significance. Wildfires, lasting several days, spread across 950 ha of forest from which 350 ha has been completely burnt to the ground. Over years we have witnessed progressing ecological disaster. Effects of the disaster hinders natural restoration of the forest and human intervention has no alternative. According to experts from WWF and United Nation’s Development Program the ‘Borjomi forest requires urgent human intervention, otherwise damages to natural forest will become irreversible’.

Ajameti National Park

Ajameti Managed Reserve is located 230 km away from Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia and it was formed as a strict nature reserve in 1946 to preserve rare and relict Imeretian Oak and Zelkova trees. The famous oaks of Ajameti are ancient natural treasures, with some of the trees being over 250 years old.

In Ajameti Protected Areas we are planting and rehabilitating Georgian Oak (Quercus iberica), Imeretian Oak (Quercus imeretina) and Zelkova (Zelcova carpinifolia), the latter two species are endemic and endangered species, and member of the Red List of Georgia.

Besides the unique forests, the environment of Ajameti is also famous for its historical monuments. At a distance of one and a half km from the Managed Nature Reserve there is a Vartsikhe borough that is built on the ruins of the town of Rodopolis. According to Procopius of Caesarea – the Byzantine historian of the 6th century, Rodopolis was a very beautiful town. In Geguti, at a distance of 4 km from the former town there are the ruins of the winter hunting palace of Georgian kings. Kutaisi is also an ancient city. And the Gelati monastery complex (12th century) and the Bagrati temple (11th century) are included in the List of the World Heritage Districts of the UNESCO

Mount Kenya, Meru County, Kenya

20 Million Trees for Kenya’s Forests is International Tree Foundation’s Centenary Campaign, running from 2016 – 2024. It aims to restore highland forests across the country, restoring their watershed functions. Currently focusing on Mount Kenya, at four sites to restore native forest that has been severely degraded in the past due to illegal logging, charcoal production and farming. ITF is working with local partner Mount Kenya Trust to restore 1,300 hectares of degraded land to native forest and improve the livelihoods of the surrounding communities.

Tanzania

Community tree planting in Lushoto District, Tanzania - The villages most pressing problem is the vanishing of the water sources, which can be traced back to a disruption of the natural water cycle due to over exploitation of the surrounding forests. In order to restore the water cycle in the long run and allow slow infiltration of rain into the groundwater trees would have to be planted.

In partnership with German based NGO - Weltweit - Gesellschaft zur Förderung lokaler Initiativen e.V. we are helping the local communities to carry out planting activities and expand the existing tree nurseries.
